    Creighton coach Greg McDermott rubbed his eyes, looking for an answer as to why his team is suddenly struggling. His son, Doug, is just as perplexed after a second straight sub-par shooting game. Evansville's Colt Ryan hit a 17-footer to break a 56-56 tie with 3:08 to play, and the 17th-ranked Bluejays blew a seven-point second-half lead in a 65-57 upset Tuesday night.

    With two starters on the bench and the score tied late in Tuesday night's game with Purdue, No. 3 Ohio State needed its most experienced player to take control. And that's what William Buford did. Buford, the only senior on the roster, scored a career-high 29 points and capped his night with a pivotal dunk in the final minute to lead the Buckeyes past hot-shooting Purdue 87-84.

    Louisville coach Jeff Walz knew the Cardinals couldn't stop the entire Connecticut team. So they tried to leave some players alone, hoping for a bad shooting night. Caroline Doty did not accommodate the strategy, making 5 of 11 3 pointers to help the Huskies hold off No. 20 Louisville 56-46 Tuesday night.

    Caroline Doty made sure No. 3 UConn's season-low scoring total was still good enough. She led the Huskies with 15 points and the Huskies' defense helped hold off No. 20 Louisville 56-46 Tuesday night. Doty, scoreless in her last game against Rutgers, made 5 of 11 on 3-point attempts. Tiffany Hayes added nine points and 11 rebounds before fouling out for UConn (22-2, 10-1 Big East).
